Hi, I’m Sarah and I’m excited to have you join me on my journey of mindful exploration through midlife.
How did Mindful and Me begin?
It all began back in September 2023, when a couple of health issues forced me to take a step back from my usual life and reassess my wellbeing going forward.
After enduring abdominal and lower back pain, coupled with several visits to A&E, I discovered that my struggles stemmed from an antidepressant I had been using to manage anxiety for years. Swiftly, I made the decision to wean myself off it and make changes to my diet and lifestyle.
Addressing the back pain led me to understand the importance of pelvic alignment, which I now maintain through regular exercise, yoga and meditation.
Friday morning’s I always try to prioritise my yoga class and attend whenever I can above all else
How Perimenopause Awareness Began
This experience also ignited a commitment to become more aware of my body, heath and hormones and take more responsibility for that.
So I began to increase my understanding and knowledge of perimenopause as I realised many of the symptoms had been overlooked and masked for several years.
Starting HRT
In January this year I started using HRT patches and I’ve been fortunate that has made a positive difference for me which I think is also benefited by my choice and exploration of holistic and alternative therapies and integrating them into my daily life.

I’m passionate about promoting self-care and women's health and I provide regular tips and insights on mindfulness, yoga, and meditation, through my experiences and practices I discover for a balanced and healthy lifestyle
Showcasing this has not only been fun to explore and share on Instagram and now here on my blog, but also have made a huge difference to how I feel.
And I so hope I can help, support and inspire other women too!

My aim
At 51 years young, I’m determined to change the narrative surrounding perimenopause and shed light on this often-overlooked phase of a woman's life. I think I’d have known more earlier a lot of the symptoms that were masked for me, would have been more obvious and I could have assisted earlier.
So my aim is to increase perimenopause awareness, share health tips, wellbeing experiences and glimpses into my own holistic midlife adventure, inspiring women like you to embrace their best selves in mind, body and spirit.
My goals
Instagram is where @sarah_mindfulandme started and my goal is to transform my content creation into a comprehensive blog and website, complete with a newsletter one day, ultimately evolving into a business. So exciting times ahead!
